Frustrated with the incentive structure of the brokerage business, Roy Sokolowski started his first Registered Investment Advisory firm in 1998 because he believed there was a better way to provide financial services. He chose the RIA structure because he believed a structure free from commissions best aligned the incentives of the advisor and the client. Pat Sokolowski joined him soon after the firm was founded with a focus on operations and financial planning. Although the company has grown and changed over the two decades, including a few name changes and a relocation to South Carolina, the drive to always do what is in our client’s best interest remains.
We believe in earning the trust of our clients by being as transparent as possible. This includes everything from how much clients will pay for our services to how and why we choose investments.
We believe the best way to provide financial services is through a planning-based model as an independent investment advisor. Brokers and insurance agents may appear to provide the same services but there are inherent differences and often conflicts of interest. We are full-time fiduciaries and are passionate about helping our clients and acting in their best interests; we sell no “product”, no annuities, no insurance and receive no commissions. We begin our journey together by getting to know our clients through a financial plan and risk assessment and use the plan to measure our success along the way.
